Boat dock bumper questions

Boat fenders hang from the boat, so wind and waves push them out of position. Sav-A-Dock bumper guards mount permanently to the dock, right where the boat makes contact, so they cushion every bump while docking, mooring, loading and unloading.

The U.S. Coast Guard recommends about 1 inch of fender diameter for every 4 to 5 feet of boat length, so our 6-inch round bumpers are ideal for boats up to about 30 feet. Pontoons and V-hulls especially benefit from the extra diameter, and it clears dock brackets that stick out more than 4 inches.

Bumpers come in 2-inch steps from 12 to 46 inches. We can build longer sizes too; those cost an extra $30 per box to ship.

Use flat bumpers along straight dock edges, and inside-corner or outside-corner profiles for corners, so the whole dock is covered. Measure each edge and corner where boats make contact, then pick the profile and length for each spot. Not sure? Call us and we'll help you plan the whole dock.

Yes. Sav-A-Dock works on fixed docks, floating docks, piers, marinas, boat slips, pilings and finger walkways: basically any structure used to tie up a boat.

Shipping is free by UPS Ground on bumpers from 12 to 46 inches. Every bumper is made to order and ships within one week, then takes 1 to 5 business days to arrive.
